Overview

Part-time and Full-time positions are available for Counselors, to provide behavior management services, utilizing therapeutic approaches with an emphasis on applied behavioral techniques. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides ongoing in-home, and/or office-based individual and/or group treatment, education and support to members and their families as indicated on the participant’s service plan.
  • Develops treatment team recommendations for follow-up support and services.
  • Actively participates as a member of the participant’s/family’s Child and Family Team (CFT) or Adult Recovery Team (ART).
  • Attends and participates in team meetings, clinical staffings (as needed), court hearings, and other meetings relevant to meeting the treatment needs of members.
  • Maintains a case load of approximately 35 members.
  • Completes progress notes using the appropriate covered service billing codes.
  • Writes comprehensive and timely reports as required by funding source and/or system partners.
  • Maintains members' records in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
  • Adheres to the agency’s policy on billable hours/encounter expectations.
  • Must be able to provide own reliable transportation to and from relevant meetings in the community.

Qualifications

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the current DSM and relevant diagnoses for the population served.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current counseling models and techniques.
  • Knowledge, understanding and ability to implement current best practice models.
  • Ability to accurately read, record and interpret information, including assessments, measures, and diagnostic criteria.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health degree program required.

 Legal Requirments 

  • Arizona Driver’s License, 39-month motor vehicle record, and evidence of vehicle registration and liability coverage that meets insurance requirements.
  • 21 years of age.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (ICHD provides training).
  • DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance required.
  • Current negative TB test result required (ICHD provides).

Prefered Qualifications

  • One year prior behavioral health experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish abilities
