Overview

The HR Intern will observe and be observed directly by an HR Generalist or HR Director on various HR related processes and projects. This will include Applicant Tracking and Onboarding, HRIS and training file maintenance, benefits system management.

Responsibilities

    INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observes recruitment and onboarding processes associated with Applicant Tracking System and Onboarding system (iCIMS). Under direct observation of an HR Generalist, posts open positions and processes candidates in the system from application through hire and onboarding.
  • Observes and assists with New Employee Orientation process.
  • Observes electronic employee file management on Microsoft HRIS, Relias training application and internal shared drive folders. Under the direct observations of an HR Generalist, scans and makes entries into these applications.
  • Observes and assists with employee file audits.
  • Observes process for enrollments and maintenance of Employee Self-Service benefits application (Employee Navigator). Under the direct observation of an HR Generalist, checks enrollment status, compiles reports, and processes terminations in the application.
  • Participates in discussions regarding HR best practices, State and Federal regulations and laws.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school/GED Diploma required
  • Current enrollment in a higher education program related to Human Resource management.

Experience – Prior work experience in an office setting preferred.

 

Regulatory

  • 18 years of age
  • Eligible for DPS Level I fingerprint clearance.
  • Current negative TB test result (less than 6 months).
