Responsible for providing tutoring and job coaching for semi-independent residential program’s teen/young adult residents, under the direct supervision of the Residential Site Supervisor or assigned program staff.


  • Provide learning assistance to students individually and in small groups under the direct supervision of program staff or site supervisor.
  • Reviews and checks progress and assignments of students to monitor students' performance.
  • Assists students in accomplishing course objectives and procedures.
  • Maintains familiarity with learning materials.
  • Tutors residents preparing for the GED battery of tests.
  • Understands and abides by program policies and regulations.
  • Counsels students in job search skills for the purpose of informing them of employment and career options.
  • Tutors students in vocational skills (e.g. work requirements, interviewing skills, self-determination, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing their readiness for employment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred; Associates degree or High School/GED required.
  • Experience –
  • Experience teaching or tutoring young adults preferred.
  • Regulatory -
  • 21 years of age
  • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License, 39 month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration and liability coverage to meet insurance requirements.
  • Eligible for DPS Level I fingerprint clearance.
  • First Aide, CPR certification (Employer provides).
  • Current negative TB test result (Employer provides).
