Responsible for providing tutoring and job coaching for semi-independent residential programs teen/young adult residents, under the direct supervision of the Residential Site Supervisor or assigned program staff.
Provide learning assistance to students individually and in small groups under the direct supervision of program staff or site supervisor.
Reviews and checks progress and assignments of students to monitor students' performance.
Assists students in accomplishing course objectives and procedures.
Maintains familiarity with learning materials.
Tutors residents preparing for the GED battery of tests.
Understands and abides by program policies and regulations.
Counsels students in job search skills for the purpose of informing them of employment and career options.
Tutors students in vocational skills (e.g. work requirements, interviewing skills, self-determination, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing their readiness for employment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Bachelors degree in Education preferred; Associates degree or High School/GED required.
Experience teaching or tutoring young adults preferred.
21 years of age
Current, valid Arizona Drivers License, 39 month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration and liability coverage to meet insurance requirements.
Eligible for DPS Level I fingerprint clearance.
First Aide, CPR certification (Employer provides).
Current negative TB test result (Employer provides).
