  • Overview

    The Controller is responsible for maintaining the general ledger of the organization and its’ affiliates and financial reporting. This includes ensuring the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, production of periodic financial reports; and maintenance of an adequate accounting system, budget coordination and risk management in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices.


    • Organize, implement, administer and evaluate the agency’s fiscal function and performance
    • In conjunction with the CFO, COO and CEO, coordinates the development and monitoring of annual agency budget and individual program budgets.
    • Participates in the development of the agency’s goals, strategies, plans, and programs.
    • Prepares and provides timely and accurate budgets, financial reports, and analysis of financial trends and the agency’s financial position in order to assist the CFO, COO, CEO and Board of Directors in the performance of their responsibilities.
    • Reconciles balance sheet accounts on a monthly and/or quarterly basis as identified by the CFO.
    • Ensures timely reporting of financial and other reports to contractors, vendors, plans and federal and state agencies.
    • Provides technical financial assistance to program and support staff, and the Management Team, through reports, training, and individual consultation.
    • Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors (financial, workers compensation, insurance, etc.)
    • Complies with local, state, and federal government requirements (payroll tax, HUD, HOME, etc.)
    • Works with Accounting/HR/Information Technology and program staff to ensure effective communication in job responsibilities.
    • Regularly evaluates the financial processes for continued improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, including provision of opportunities for professional development.
    • Provides oversight of accounting functions.


    • Education Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required.
    • Experience – 3 years of financial reporting experience.
    • License/Certification – Certification as a CPA preferred.

    • 21 years of age
    • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39 month Motor Vehicle Report to meet insurance requirements.
    • Eligible for DPS Level I fingerprint clearance.
    • Initial negative TB test result, within the past 12 months (Employer provides)
