  • Overview

    Responsible for providing training and support to others in the use of behavior intervention strategies, based on the Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) under the direction of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Clinical Supervisor.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides direct delivery of behavioral intervention services to clients, their families or caregivers by implementing goals and objectives to ensure safety and engagement in appropriate activities within their daily environments.
    • Schedules and keeps scheduled appointments with parents or caregivers.
    • Provides training for clients’ parents or caregivers on how to implement behavior intervention strategies based on ABC teaching plans and the FBA developed by a Behavior Assessment Specialist (BAS) or a
    • Collects data, completes graphs, documents observations and incidents.
    • Communicates with clients, parents or caregivers in regards to observations, progress, concerns, questions, preferences, etc. Completes progress notes, using the appropriate codes, in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) within 24 hours of service.
    • Discusses treatment progress, supports family in implementing behavior strategies that support the treatment plan.
    • Coordinates with other program staff to ensure program consistency.
    • Completes daily mileage logs, and submits to supervisor for approval, on a monthly basis.
    • Maintains an approved schedule and acceptable level of attendance.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience – Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a field related to behavioral health, and one year of related experience.

    Certification – Has, or attains RBT certification. BCaBA certification preferred.

    Regulatory -

    • 21 years of age
    • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License, 39 month Motor Vehicle Report, and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements.
    • Eligible for DPS Level I fingerprint clearance.
    • First Aide, CPR certification (Employer provides).
    • CPI or Prevention and Support certification required, depending upon program contract (must pass – Employer provides).
    • Current negative TB test result, within the prior 12 months, and physical examination on a prescribed form. (Employer provides)

    Special Job Requirement – Must be able to provide own reliable transportation to and from clients’ homes and/or other relevant locations.
