  • Overview

    The Membership Services Specialist assists in the day to day operations of the organization by engaging, coordinating, assisting, and directing potential members, existing members, contracting agencies, community organizations, etc. on service of provision of the organization. Memberships Services Specialist provide customer service activities via telephone or face to face.

    Responsibilities

    • INTAKE REFERRALS
    • VERIFY COMMERCIAL INSURANCE
      • Verify member’s commercial benefits in accordance with current contracts and advise family of projected cost or copay.
      • Email medical team to ensure member meets criteria for psychiatric services.
      • Create referral and enrollment in EHR.
      • Notify scheduler once approved.
      • Keep family appraised of status of services. 
    • RAPID RESPONSE--DCS Removals
    • NURSEWISE—Crisis/Urgent Referrals
    • Outgoing
    • CUSTOMER SERVICE
    • RESPOND TO GREIVANCES
    • NTXIX’s (loss of eligibility) ASSISTANCE
    • OTHER DUTIES AS NECESSARY

    Qualifications

    • Education/Experience –
    • High School Diploma
    • Two years of customer service experience working in the healthcare industry (medical or behavioral health)
    • Regulatory
    • 21 years of age
    • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License, 39 month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration and liability coverage to meet insurance requirements.
    • Eligible for DPS Level I fingerprint clearance. (Employer provides)
    • Initial negative TB test result. (Employer provides)
